When one organization sought to improve its “Best Places to Work” rating, we designed and implemented a program to strengthen the organization’s leaders by teaching them how to effectively coach and mentor their employees.We created coaching and mentoring workshops for all levels of management, including specific modules on how to provide performance and developmental feedback. We also designed an internal coaching certification program to train a cadre of internal coaches who now champion and model coaching for their business units.
As part of an initiative to increase collaboration among scientific research and engineering leaders, our certified leadership coaches leveraged their emotional intelligence (EQ) expertise to conduct EQ assessments for all middle and senior leaders. Individual coaching sessions were provided to help leaders understand their strengths and weaknesses and assist leaders in identifying steps they could take to more effectively work with their leaders, peers, and employees.
We designed and implemented a multi-faceted leadership development program including an orientation, formal classroom training, tools and resources, round-table discussions, panels, and coaching to help an organization reinvent the role of a front-line supervisor. The end result was a team of front-line supervisors who focused on developing their staff and collaborating together to solve problems and generate ideas.
